<p>What software are you using? Premiere, Avid or ?</p>
<p>I see the video is 23.976 and audio 48k. Your sequence settings should be the same as video. Unless it has timecode, the audio has no frame rate. If there&#8217;s timecode audio needs to be the exact same framerate as video.</p>
<p>Not 24, but 23.976 aka 23.98. There&#8217;s a .1% speed&hellip;</p>

<p>You should be able to create 2048&#215;1229 Premiere sequence. Drop your video into that and resize or reposition as necessary. </p>
<p>Make sure you setup audio for 5.1 in the sequence. You should be able to create discrete channels. Just follow one of the accepted channel orders such as LCRLsRsLfe, LRLsRsCLfe, etc.</p>

<p>I agree with Ty. I use an external lithium battery and have never run out of power, even on long shoots. They&#8217;re not expensive and will quickly save you money over alkalines.</p>

<p>Most pro edit programs work better if you transcode to an edit-friendly codec such as ProRes422, Avid DnX, etc.</p>
<p>H264 encoding scheme is GOP [group of pictures] rather than frame by frame. So FCP first has to decode the GOPs to play them. Not&hellip;</p>

<p>I just checked SurCode&#8217;s site and they still sell it for Premiere.</p>
<p>I suggest checking their support site. Check to make sure they support the current version of Premiere and your license is still active. </p>
<p>I don&#8217;t remember DVD video supporting 24 bit.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t know if Adobe&#8217;s battle with Dolby over licensing is still going on, but that might be&hellip;</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve seen dual pickup mics and not sure why it&#8217;s even necessary. People&#8217;s voices come from one location, their mouth. </p>
<p>Stereo comes from the environment, music, etc. </p>
<p>Frankly I don&#8217;t see a need for a stereo vocal mic. </p>

<p>AVI files are old school and huge. Do you need it specifically for some reason? Most of us use Avid DnX and Apple ProRes, with H264 for final viewing files.</p>
<p>Uncompressed files are virtually unplayable on most systems. Most of us use them for archival purposes.</p>
<p>Let me know what your client needs and I or others can help.</p>

<p>If source material has a sync problem you&#8217;ll have to figure out yourself.</p>
<p>This is why I always use a slate/clapper board or simply clap my hands in front of the camera to have an absolute sync point. </p>

<p>Generally it&#8217;s good to have separate tracks for room tone. Anything with PFX [production effects, aka footsteps, door closing, whatever] should have it&#8217;s own track. You can never have too many these days!</p>
<p>That way when editing and doing your final mix you have the most flexibility and control.</p>
<p>I suggest reading John Purcell&#8217;s excellent book&hellip;</p>

<p>I don&#8217;t think you need uprez software as even an $80 Epson can scan at greater than 4K resolution.</p>
<p>Nikon even made some scanners years ago just for slides and negatives. </p>
<p>I would scan at double or more the resolution of your video project so you can enlarge, reposition or do moves on the images.</p>

<p>On some machines you could adjust tracking to stablize it or else use a Time Base Corrector.</p>
<p>However Warp Stablizer should help. You can do it in Premiere but After Effects has more controls.</p>
<p>Try and pick your region of interest as the time/date stamp. If that looks stable&hellip;</p>

<p>More details are helpful, like how much ram, drive size, type, etc.</p>
<p>I suspect you&#8217;re underpowered as set up. One alternative is create proxies as you seem to be in 6k which is a lot for a laptop to handle. </p>

<p>You don&#8217;t mention file codec, HD, 4K, etc. H264 files don&#8217;t play as well on some systems for example.</p>
<p>What drives, HD or SSD? That affects playback. Also try assigning your Cache to a separate SSD.</p>
<p>Clean the cache between projects</p>
<p>Set PP playback windows to 1/2, 1/4 resolution. That improves playback although not as sharp. </p>

<p>I don&#8217;t know of any way to get that version since Adobe doesn&#8217;t offer it anymore. I believe it&#8217;s strictly installed through Creative Cloud, not from disc, so unless someone still has it and loaned to you then not possible. Also Adobe would check your subscription before authorizing that installation.</p>

<p>This has happened to me. Often it&#8217;s a result of a damaged file at that point or some probleme with it. </p>
<p>One solution is to mark that spot in/out then render and make sure it&#8217;s green. When you export, click &#8220;Use Previews&#8221;.</p>
<p>If that doesn&#8217;t work, try re-importing the clip, or open the clip in a new sequence, render that and re-import. </p>

<p>Then go to Video Effects/Obsolete/Opacity and add Opacity. In the Effect window you can keyframe the effect.</p>
<p>Since it&#8217;s an obsolete effect then likely it&#8217;s been updated and incorporated into Essential Graphics but I haven&#8217;t tried it.</p>

<p>My suggestion is use Adobe Media Encoder and output the footage at 25fps. It should play correctly. </p>
<p>I suggest using Apple ProRes HQ which will play well in After Effects. </p>
<p>Instead of saying you want to &#8220;reduce the frame rate&#8221; rather what you&#8217;re doing is converting to another format that plays the same visual speed.</p>

<p>I use my HP Z800 on PP 15.4 (latest version) and it runs fine. IMO Xeon is a higher level processor than i7.</p>
<p>I constantly edit simple H264 videos without converting.</p>
<p>For general programs with titles/effects I usually transcode to ProRes, works fine.</p>
<p>Let me know if I can answer more specifics but you should be fine.</p>

<p>The Beta version of PP does speech to text transcription. You should be able to output an SCC file (I haven&#8217;t tried yet).</p>
<p>However the accuracy is very good.</p>
<p>Just go to  your CC account and select Beta apps. Everyone can use it now and it&#8217;s no extra charge.</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve heard Apple is no longer supporting Firewire on newest OS updates. I would try Daniels idea. If that doesn&#8217;t work check if any of your friends has old OS and try that. </p>
<p>If no luck you can buy an analog to USB convertor to capture footage. Most cameras have analog as well as Firewire outputs.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s a drag when Adobe makes Premiere better but then requires newer hardware. I have a couple GPUs sitting in my closet for that reason.</p>

<p>What I do is create separate tracks for each song, then import into a CD project. I don&#8217;t think Audition has easy way to do what you suggest.</p>
<p>However I watched a good Adobe video with Jason Levine on creating CDs.</p>

<p>Normally closed captions should be on all videos. I&#8217;m not sure if descriptive audio for the blind is required or optional.</p>
<p>I suggest joining some Facebook groups like Adobe Premiere Pro Editors. I&#8217;m on there, you can mention me to admin Kyle. </p>
<p>I can&#8217;t think of anything else you could add to videos other than those two. I do captions and&hellip;</p>

<p>I don&#8217;t use AE much, but I&#8217;ve read the more ram the better. However you should look up your computer ram configuration guide.</p>
<p>You can&#8217;t always mix/match different sizes/speeds/brands. For example my HP Z800 has a chart showing which ram sizes and amounts you should get.</p>
<p>Otherwise you can actually slow down your computer</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve had more luck getting answers on my Facebook Premiere group. However you need to post a lot more detail to get help</p>
<p>Computer, ram, graphics card, drives, OS, PP version (don&#8217;t say &#8220;the latest&#8221; be specific) and clearly describe what you mean by crash, what you were doing when it happened, etc.</p>
<p>Also don&#8217;t delete anything yet. We&#8217;ve had&hellip;</p>

<p>You need a video or audio card in your computer capable of sending out 6 discrete outputs or 3 stereo ones to the encoder.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll also need to configure your mixer output settings to </p>
<p>Then you have to play your audio through encoder to another device to capture it, like another computer with video/audio card. However I&#8217;m not sure about next step&hellip;</p>

<p>Almost certainly your camera records 24fps at 23.976. Only certain high-end digital cameras and camcorders can record true 24. Pretty much any dvd, blu-ray, streaming, tv is either 23.976 or 29.97. So you&#8217;re not changing frame rates at all.</p>
<p>Just do ProRes at that frame rate, make sure you use HQ for best quality and you&#8217;ll have a much better&hellip;</p>

<p>What video format are you working in? What is the size/filetype/quality of your stills? These all matter. </p>
<p>Video doesn&#8217;t have the same maximum resolution as photos or graphics. Even 4k video is less than a good 300dpi photo.</p>
<p>So post specifics that will help us help you</p>

<p>Camera audio is almost never as good as external recorders. They&#8217;re 16 bit whereas Zoom and others can record 24bit. </p>
<p>Also better to stay XLR all the way. If you convert to miniplug it may not ground properly without right adapter and you can pick up audio hum.</p>
<p>However always record on the camera so you can easily sync later.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s difficult to remove all the air, i.e. the extra sound due to the mic distance from subject. However I was able to improve somewhat. </p>
<p>First, redo your noise reduction. I was able to remove a lot of noise. Make sure you sample an area with ambient sound only. No speaking, cars, birds, etc. Then set NR for 70&amp; and Reduce 9db.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s some filters in Audition for Male or Female voice. However unless you&#8217;re already voicing in a higher register that is in the female range I don&#8217;t think you can make a believable woman&#8217;s voice.</p>
<p>I would test by intentionally recording as if you were female raising and lightening your voice. Then listen to it and try the female voice&hellip;</p>
