  • compositing options in adobe premiere pro?

Hi, I’m looking for a way to keyframe any effect’s opacity in premiere pro, if possible. I know they have this feature in after effects, it’s in [compositing options] > [effect opacity], but I don’t see it in premiere pro. Is there such a feature, or do I need to switch to after effects whenever I want to do this?

Would have dig deep on this one but have you tried duplicating the clip and placing on top to control the opacity?

Not exactly what I would do since I live and breathe in AE.

The easiest way to do it is make a new Adjustment layer over your clip (or duplicate your clip and add to that).

Then go to Video Effects/Obsolete/Opacity and add Opacity. In the Effect window you can keyframe the effect.

Since it’s an obsolete effect then likely it’s been updated and incorporated into Essential Graphics but I haven’t tried it.

As far as I know latest versions of PP do have a mask option for any effect. In there one can set the shape, opacity, feather etc and keyframe them. Even AE does not do this.
