Latest Premiere Update

April 17, 2022 at 7:19 pmI just updated Premiere Pro this morning and discovered my Minnetonka Dolby Surcode is no longer available for me to use. Also, Premiere wants to use 16 bit audio for everything. I cannot use 24 bit PCM for Blu-ray or DVD exports. They keep trying to make it more simple to use and eliminate any choices. What gives?

I just checked SurCode’s site and they still sell it for Premiere.
I suggest checking their support site. Check to make sure they support the current version of Premiere and your license is still active.
I don’t remember DVD video supporting 24 bit.
I don’t know if Adobe’s battle with Dolby over licensing is still going on, but that might be another issue.
Also as everything moves to streaming I see a lot of DVD/Blu-ray support going away.

April 17, 2022 at 9:42 pmYou had the option of selecting bit depth. DVD and Blu Ray used to go to 24 bit for PCM. This update has changed Media Encoder with presets and little choice. I will try and contact Minnetonka tomorrow. It wouldn’t surprise me if Adobe no longer supports the third party app.
Thanks
