I want to change my voice from male to female, to make voice over for video clips. Usually the voice over is done by a female coworker, but it takes her 1 to 2 days to do it. If I do it myself, it only takes a few seconds.

But raising the pitch only makes me sound more and more like a chipmunk instead of a female.

What are the correct effects to apply to make a male voice sound like female? Or is there a plug-in to do this?

There’s some filters in Audition for Male or Female voice. However unless you’re already voicing in a higher register that is in the female range I don’t think you can make a believable woman’s voice.

I would test by intentionally recording as if you were female raising and lightening your voice. Then listen to it and try the female voice filter. It’s in the Effects tab/Special/Vocal Enhancer/Female Voice

You can also use the pitch changer in Audition, but too much adjustment here and you’ll lose the realism of the voice.
