I didn’t go so far to test this to see if it works, but if you hold the SHFT key down and go to the Options menu, you’ll see the “Internal” menu show up at the bottom. I imagine your laptop has a trackpad if you’re not using a mouse, which has equivalent features to a mouse (e.g. for scrolling, mouse-wheel, etc). If Stephen’s #2 point is still valid, you probaly could try it without a physical mouse.

Within Vegas, you’re possibly looking for Ctrl-Tab.. same keys as with Windows.

Are you using the masking on the Pan/Crop tool, or a different way of applying a mask?

You should be able to create multiple splines/masks to select different parts of your image using the Pan/Crop’s masking without any problem. You also probably could apply a cookie cutter effect but that’s way less flexible.

Hi! Do some searching on Vegas’s motion tracking features.. they are meant to do the kind of thing you are doing.

Basically, it tracks the motion of one event, then applies those key frames to another event’s position so it matches the movement.

Also. they say the “Export/Import” preference features was new for Vegas 18.. maybe 17 had it too (sometimes the marketing implies it’s new for a version but it’s been there in prior ones too)?

If you have Vegasaur, its “Vegas Presets Manager” might help you with what you’re doing.

If you haven’t already, try enabling the “Sharpening” option on the “Spatial” tab page under “Filter Settings”. (on the “Adjust and Preview” page). I usually enable that and it restores the crispness quite nicely 🙂

Perhaps in your situation where some clients are unable to download because their Internet speeds do not support it, you can simply host the video for them to watch and provide a link they can use to watch it whenever they want? Or render a high quality and lower-bitrate 720p file for those who can’t download the higher quality files?

1. you want to group the two events (audio and video), not the tracks. Are you selecting both those events and then grouping them? (The “G” hotkey will also group them unless you’ve remapped that key)

2. Make sure the little icon on the bottom that says “ignore event grouping” is not enabled

Use the advanced autosave features they added in 17. It may be called advanced backup.. under the tools menu I believe. You can set frequency and location for minor, major and critical backups, essentially defining a frequency and retention policy.
