Group moving volume envelope audio nodes
Posted by Kelly Griffin on August 9, 2021 at 7:51 pmIs there a way to gather up volume nodes in an audio envelope and move them along the timeline while they maintain their positions relative to each other?

August 9, 2021 at 8:02 pmYes you can. At the bottom of the timeline you will see an icon that says ” Lock Envelopes to Events” when you enable this, the nodes will move with your events along the timeline maintaining their original positions.

August 10, 2021 at 3:56 pmSteve’s answer is great.. totally works if you also want to move your events and have the envelopes “stick” to the events.
Another options if you only want to move the envelopes (along the timeline, or as a group up or down), is to choose the “Envelope Edit Tool” (it’s on the toolbar at the bottom, or the menu bar ‘Edit->Editing Tool->Envelope’). With that chosen, if you select a range on your timeline, all points in that range become selected… then you can easily manipulate them as a group — slide on the timeline, move up and down, cut the group or even copy the group and paste somewhere else!

August 10, 2021 at 5:15 pmI tried the Envelope Edit Tool on my volume levels, and was able to select it and move a group of nodes. But, while the nodes stayed locked relative to each other in their horizontal positions relative to each other, they changed in volume (vertical positions) with my hand motion, which I don’t want. How do I keep their vertical positions locked?

August 10, 2021 at 7:00 pmIf you hold the Ctrl key while moving them, only their vertical can move (locked horizontal movement)
If you hold the ALT key while moving them, only their horizontal will move (locked vertical)
🙂
