Adding additional Commentary Track
Posted by William Duffy on December 13, 2021 at 1:45 amHi there
How do I go about adding an additional Commentary Track to a video in Vegas Pro 19? I’ve done a search here for info but they are all very old and no longer relevant, and the only things I can find via the net just talk about creating voiceovers. I want my final result to have more than one audio track?

December 13, 2021 at 3:09 amWhen you write “I want my final result to have more than one audio track” — what do you mean by “final result”? Are you talking about in the Vegas timeline, or in some final render file you want there to be two different audio tracks that the viewer/listener can choose from (like on a DVD with multiple languages)?
If you’re talking about just having a 2nd audio track in Vegas for you to place the commentary, what Setiawan wrote is accurate — right click on the left area of the timeline (where track numbers are) and choose “Insert Audio Track”. You also can do it from the menus up top.

December 13, 2021 at 3:13 amI’m talking about having it like on a DVD with multiple languages, which is why I said havig my final result having more than one audio track (the final result being what is created after rendering).

December 13, 2021 at 5:09 amThen you can just mute the other audio tracks, and left one of ‘commentary track’, export it as it’s own.
But, however, not sure of the other authoring tools that able to combine 2 different audio and let viewer choose the preferred audio track to listen.
In DVD Authoring, I guess you can put audio track 1 and 2. – the most far I can think will MKV compilation – but never tried… so I don’t know about it.

December 13, 2021 at 11:32 amI ended up doing what you say here and created a video with the video and main audio track, and then another with just the Commentary. I’m about to put them together using MKVtoolNix, as it’s a doddle to create MKVs with two tracks. It would be handy if Vegas Pro was able to do the same though?
