VP18 won’t import wav file
Posted by James Williams on February 13, 2021 at 1:40 amWhat am I missing? I’ve been using Vegas for years. It won’t take a .wav file on the timeline. How do I make it happen. TIA

Open it in MediaInfo (https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download – when you first run it it will offer to become a r.click option in Windows File Explorer – very convenient) and report back. Here’s the Text-format report for a typical Signed 16-bit Little-Endian Wav file :
General
Complete name : D:\Testfile.wav
Format : Wave
File size : 252 MiB
Duration : 22 min 55 s
Overall bit rate mode : Constant
Overall bit rate : 1 536 kb/s
Writing application : Lavf58.42.100Audio
Format : PCM
Format settings : Little / Signed
Codec ID : 1
Duration : 22 min 55 s
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 1 536 kb/s
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz
Bit depth : 16 bits
Stream size : 252 MiB (100%)
