Deleting Previous Shot, Not the next

May 10, 2022 at 10:03 pmWhen I slice a shot and hit delete it deletes the next shot. Can I make the previous shot before the cut to be deleted, instead of the shot after the cursor?

May 10, 2022 at 10:25 pmHi John!
So you’re splitting an event (“s” key) and want to delete the previous event (on the left of the split), yes?
Try ALT-[ to invoke “trim start” — it deletes from the start of the event where the scrubber is on the timeline up to the scrubber position 🙂
Unrelated — I’m curious why you seem to post here instead of on the forum at http://vegascreativesoftware.info ?

May 12, 2022 at 3:56 pmWhen pressing “S”, the event AFTER the split will be selected. The option given by Rob will cut off before the cursor or you could write a script that does what you want.

John! Use the Trimmer. It will do exactly what you want. You don’t need a script. You need to appreciate The Mighty Trimmer and release your creativity. 😎

May 18, 2022 at 2:19 pmOr use what you’ve paid for – The Mighty Trimmer. But learning a new skill set is always rewarding. Personally, it’s the Trimmer for me. 😉
