I have been having an issue now for about a month. I am rendering HD AVI files using the Sony AVC Template. Whenever I have multiple files edited into a video and render them together the finished file has multiple “black” sections randomly throughout the video. No video just sound. This does not happen on shorter videos with only one clip.

If I just re-render the video from the timeline immediately after it finishes the finished video will playback correctly like it should. It is really strange since I do not change any settings- I just render it again…

Any ideas on this would be great.

Not saying this will fix it, but disabling the use of your GPU may fix the problem. I’ve had oddball problems periodically creep in after the video card manufacturer tweaks something in a driver update, or even a windows update which reset some driver settings… not really Vegas’s fault in those cases, but fortunately there’s a way to get your render to work by simply disabling the use of the GPU in the Preferences dialog (Video tab I believe).
