However, I cannot guarantee the Boris effects will continue working as there are many variables. The timeline works the same way in 23 as it did in 13 but there are a bunch of new features &#8211; some of which may actually help your workflow.</p>
<p>As for the Boris products, the answer is &#8220;maybe&#8221; as you did not say the source of the plugin (was it a bundle?) and the newer versions of VEGAS&hellip;</p>

All versions since then are from Magix &#8211; there is no such product as &#8220;Sony Vegas&#8221; for over a decade.</p>
<p>You might try installing and testing VEGAS Pro 23 (by Magix) and you&#8217;ll find what you want to do has become easier. The newest version now has Adjustment Tracks and Adjustment Events that should&hellip;</p>

<p>Tracks 2, 3, 4 (whatever is needed to define all tracks that get this effect): Child tracks to Track 1</p>
<p>Add an effect on track 1 and move it AFTER the &#8220;Composite&#8221; (you can drag effects left or right of &#8220;composite&#8221; and each other). Now adjust the effect as desired and all children will get that&hellip;</p>

It&#8217;s a tiny fraction of a second way less than one frame. But, yes, you can turn off the Quickfade Audio Events and it won&#8217;t drop on a split/cut. However, be careful in that you could end up with a small &#8220;pop&#8221; in those places. Not sure if that would still be an issue, though.</p>

Premiere does &#8211; but that&#8217;s a different timeline paradigm. Vegas keeps the video/audio together. Yes, you can then move it to another track but it doesn&#8217;t do what you&#8217;re requesting automatically.</p>
<p>I suppose you could write a script that would do that for you. Then you&#8217;d have to add all new files using the script.</p>

However, I often put my CD in an older machine that has a CD drive, copy the contents to a USB drive, and then install from that USB drive on the new machine.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not an impossibility that the VEGAS capture &#8220;might&#8221; see that device plugged in and capture &#8211; but it won&#8217;t be as good as firewire.</p>

The compressor should already be there so select it. and then select an appropriate preset or adjust the settings to suit.</p>

You&#8217;ll be prompted with a window that has a checkbox that says &#8220;clear cache&#8221;. Check that box and continue. Please note that will also reset VEGAS back to factory defaults.</p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t want to reset VEGAS back to factory defaults, you can Close Vegas, Delete<b> plugin_manager_cache.bin</b> and <b>svfx_plugin_cache.bin</b>&hellip;</p>

<p>However, you may need to clear the VEGAS cache in order for everything to appear if you&#8217;ve added something and it&#8217;s not there.</p>
