There should be no issue opening a 13 project in 23. However, I cannot guarantee the Boris effects will continue working as there are many variables. See the response in the other post but your best option is to install the demo and test it out for yourself.

The good news is that your “workflow” should not need to change. The timeline works the same way in 23 as it did in 13 but there are a bunch of new features – some of which may actually help your workflow.

First of all, it should NOT be a one frame drop. It’s a tiny fraction of a second way less than one frame. But, yes, you can turn off the Quickfade Audio Events and it won’t drop on a split/cut. As VST3 support is new(er), I’d be on the newest version for the best support. So move to VEGAS Pro 21 and make sure you download the updates when the updates are available.

When creating new titles in VEGAS if you’re copying an older one, make sure you “Make a new copy” and it’s not linked to the previous title.

Beyond that, It would help to see how the title is configured but, yes, Titler Pro does have an option to fit the text to the box.

Sounds like you are “Nesting” the project instead of “Opening” the project. Right-click and drag and make sure you choose “Open Project”.

That would be a Windows setting. You need to tell Windows what app should open MP4 files. It has nothing to do with VEGAS.

When you add a “Package”, you replace all effects with the new set of effects.

If you add the effects individually, you should be able to add them all.

32 is the color depth. You may need to test in a newer version of VEGAS.

Hold down the CTRL key and resize the audio and video to the new desired length together.

To move the timeline back to the top, go to Options – Preferences – Display – and uncheck “Display timeline at the bottom of main window”

It is possible that Project Inspector installed with Excalibur can cause this message to pop up. If you have Project Inspector installed, this will remove that message as well as add a Quantize to Frames check.

I can tell you that I’ve used Excalibur and NewBlue in all versions of 19 including the current build 643 without seeing an error message. Could you please post a screenshot of that error message as well and any details that might be available?

Vegas just doesn’t work that way. Premiere does – but that’s a different timeline paradigm. Vegas keeps the video/audio together. Yes, you can then move it to another track but it doesn’t do what you’re requesting automatically.

I suppose you could write a script that would do that for you. Then you’d have to add all new files using the script.

Your *best* solution will be to upgrade to VEGAS Pro 19. Movie Studio 11 is about 11 years old at this time. Update to a current version to get current render options.

You don’t have to ungroup them before moving the audio tracks. Just grab the audio track header and drag it down.

You can get external CD Drives. However, I often put my CD in an older machine that has a CD drive, copy the contents to a USB drive, and then install from that USB drive on the new machine.

It’s not an impossibility that the VEGAS capture “might” see that device plugged in and capture – but it won’t be as good as firewire.

For MiniDV, the best way is to go via firewire. Then you can just use the VEGAS Capture to capture it. Personally, I like Scenalyzer Live for capturing MiniDV via Firewire.

Make sure you have updated the Deep Learning Models as well. The newest version also had a newer update for those tools as well.

Find “Nahimic” on your system and turn it off. Google Nahimic for more information.

What version of Titler Pro. I don’t know of a reason why an older version would not work in VEGAS Pro 19.

When pressing “S”, the event AFTER the split will be selected. The option given by Rob will cut off before the cursor or you could write a script that does what you want.

1. click on “Fx” on the audio track. The compressor should already be there so select it. and then select an appropriate preset or adjust the settings to suit.

Hold down CTRL-SHIFT and start VEGAS. You’ll be prompted with a window that has a checkbox that says “clear cache”. Check that box and continue. Please note that will also reset VEGAS back to factory defaults.
