  • Which Vegas Pro version(s) can utilize VST3 audio plugins?

Posted by Rich Kutnick on January 24, 2024 at 8:52 pm

I just now downloaded a trial version of Izotope VEA, an AI sound plugin. I do not see the effect listed with my other audio plugins nor does it show on the list of vst plugins in audio preferences. I did notice that it is a VST3 plugin, so I am wondering specifically if Vegas Pro 19 is not recognizing it and if I will have to update to Vegas Pro 20. Can anyone familiar with this please provide guidance?

    Thanks in advance…

According to this link below, it seems to only be supported by Vegas Pro 20 that has a beta VST3 support. That’s the only version.

    Hope this helps! 🙂

Thanks for the response, Hector. Before reading the Reddit blog to which you refer, I coincidentally did try importing my audio tracks directly from the VP 19 Pro timeline into Sound Forge Pro 14. I then was able to use VEA along with any other VST 3 plug-ins or any other Sound Forge tools to sweeten my audio and seemlessly import it back onto the VP 19 Pro timeline. BTW, VEA works very well, using AI to automatically sweeten the audio to the limits of its capabilities. It does not work well on ALL audio clips, but the ones it does help show a marked improvement.
