almost sounds like the memory card couldn’t keep up. it also sounds like its dropping, so I don’t think this is recoverable.

does this happen to the timeline or just the export? try removing adjustment layers, try software render, and try prores export. some h.264 accelerated encoding also may cause issues.

I’ve read about this before. I saw some threads saying it doesn’t show up in the canon DPP software. maybe you can convert out of raw in there before importing into adobe. also, if you’d like to post something, maybe a tweak can be had in another colormodel like YUV. does the stripe move in the image?

also check out shutter encoder which has more video codecs options. for example, you can convert directly to prores so you don’t have to make proxies for smooth playback. although in handbrake, it may be possible for h.264 in command line with, no pb frames, cabac off and essentially be a intraframe mp4.

first i’d try to see if I could modify global hue to rotate the whole image around the skin tone line. i was mentioning izotope. but keep in mind that their version 9 is much better than version 8, so is pretty much on par with cedar,; which some agree with. They also have a weblink that discusses the order of effects from a software developer point of view, which mostly agrees with my tests.

you could try the cineon effect (linear to log). or maybe change the color management. or try a layer set as mode ‘multiply’ in curves.

also, your gamut is going to be clumped into a small area, so play with sat v sat.

order of effects does matter too. for example: here’s a wind removal process

what is the video codec you are trying to export with? avi is just a container. some older codecs don’t support large dimensions, other just need to change their profile to 6.1 or higher.

i was reading there were many people on adobe forums with your same setup and issue. some uses may have had luck trying the premiere beta version.

If you were exporting to h.264, it shouldn’t have mattered how large the source files were. It’s mostly dependent on the bitrate and audio compression. Maybe VBR couldn’t compress the png correctly and cbr could. Regardless, i’d chock this up to a premiere bug but thx for reporting back with the solution.

try with software encoding or prores with handbrake or shutter encoder to get a second encoding opinion.

The main thing is that nvme technology has exploded in size and shrunk in cost, so I would forget the whole ssd thing and get a nvme drive. you can get a nvme 1TB sabrent for a hundred bucks at 3500MB/s. Then, if you need larger storage, an external ssd. make sure the motherboard has 3.2 gen 2 usb slots.

this might be an issue of the intermediate vs final output of keylight. you can take the alpha of intermediate and use that as a secondary alpha matte without losing the color correction of final output. also, if you can refine that, a nice light-wrap does wonders for low chroma information. keying a key sometimes creates a rabbit hole, but maybe…

if you updated premiere to 2022, I believe it lost dv capture support. you can either go back to an earlier premiere or use imovie.
