  • Premiere automatically correcting footage shot in SLOG3?

Posted by Todd Vanslyck on March 30, 2022 at 2:52 pm

I’ve noticed recently that when I view clips shot in SLOG3 outside of Premiere, they look as they should (washed out, no contrast).

But when I add them on the timeline, it’s almost like it adds a LUT. I’ve never had this happen before.

Is there some sort if setting I can change? I have a timeline with mixed footage (frame rates, color profiles) and it’s never done this before.

I’ve hunted around settings and can’t find anything.

When I view them in Davinci Resolve, they look native (washed out, etc)

Yes! Thank you so much, this solved the problem.

This is a new feature in PP, probably because users didn’t know how to apply LUTs. It can be turned off but it is annoying. For each clip, right-click and select “Interpret Footage…”. Under “Color Management”, select “Color Space Override” and choose your color space (rec. 709 for our Sony cameras).

You dont need to do one clip at a time, you can select all in project panel and modify in one go

My problem is the opposite Todd: Premiere is not recognising the S-log Color space of my A7S111 clips. I’d like to edit these in the rec709 color space without LUTs but can’t make this work. Do you know why Premiere can’t see the s-log color space and how to fix it?

    Thanks

you’ll need the beta version for s-log issues.
