There are ways you can simulate an isometric camera in AE. If you google that many videos will come up.

I’ve only done stuff in Windows, but my first thought would be that the paths are different for where you are storing/recalling information. Could be the difference on where the script is launching from too.

What happens when you render straight from AE? I’ve had way too many issues trying to make a master out through Media Encoder. I always do a lossless or ProRes out of AE and then recompress in ME. I’ve also occasionally had hiccups and switching the render engine in ME helps.

How complex are your dashed paths? Are they simple shapes or complex?

That is super weird. The only thing I can think of and have experienced is that you’re working on a mp4. I’ve experienced issues before when trying to do something quick on an mp4, as soon as i swapped it out for an mov the issues went away. So maybe try converting to an mov or mxf and see what happens?

I think your only option is to change the resolution of your screen to match.

Search for tutorials on animating objects along a path.

Once you have that, search for loopout expression.

What are the pixel dimensions of the artboard? Also is the file in RGB color space? First things that popped into my head that could cause issues potentially.

It’s seeing it as an audio only layer. Maybe try right clicking on the file in your project panel and selecting interpret, see if the video portion is turned on. Otherwise if it plays fine from file explorer maybe re-import it to the project. Something is causing AE from recognizing the video track.

You can use expressions to determine the brightness by using finding the max value of RGB channels. You can do the same to get the color. These expressions have been covered on the forum, but half the battle is knowing what to search for. I hope this helps!

I’ve had this issue before too. Try opening Nvidia settings and in the 3d tab set media encoder to nvidia. I think the default is auto switch. I’ve had success with that.

It’s a short clip and since there is a camera move, various background elements, and lighting differences you may have success exporting as still frames and use photoshop to object remove/paint out the people.

Above the search bar (top right of page) there is a currency drop down. You can change to pound or euro.

Try ticking the QuickTime scene preferred setting in the color profile options in the comp. Something like that. Red is always a hard color to export as well, at least in my experience.

There is a script in AE called “Create Nulls From Paths”. It should be under “Window”. Click on your path and then select Points Follow Nulls and it will create Nulls wherever you have anchor points on your path. Then you can either parent the circle to the null or vise versa. Closing a Precomp through script

It looks like you are trying to save over the Default workspace. Usually when I have issues with workspaces saving as a new one typically fixes it.

“Save as New Workspace…” instead of “Save Changes to this Workspace”

Did your friend render with a straight matte? Sounds like pre-multiplied matte was used which would cause what you describe.

Try setting your color working space to sRGB 2.1 and tick the box on for “Compensate for Scene-referred Profiles”. You will find that in the Color tab in Project Settings. If you are using Window Media Player this is a common occurrence. Install VLC, it has better support for video codecs. If you are getting audio only this is almost always a video codec issue. Equally so using VLC will fix it.

Couple of options. You can render out to or compress with Media Encoder and in the Export Settings under the Effects tab there is a Timecode Overlay toggle. Or you could create a text layer and add the expression to the Source Text.

Extrusions wont work if your 3d Render Engine is set to Classic. Double check that your new comp is set to Cinema 4d. Ctrl + K to open Composition Settings and then under the 3D Renderer tab. If this doesn’t fix it I am not sure what is going on.

I have also utilized a gradient for this type of animation. You can use sampleImage to look for the change from white to black and connect that to any transform property, scale, position, rotation, etc. Then all you have to do is animate a gradient moving.

It looks like your slider is using a comma as a decimal point. The text data index is expecting 2 values but since there is a comma it is interpreting that as 3 values and breaking. Are you trying to bring in your stroke and fill as different layers?

When making your shape in Illustrator do you have the stroke set to outside aligned? Illustrator to AE strokes will only come in as a stroke if you keep your stroke set to center aligned.

Hopefully this helps demonstrate it. You can move the shape layer wherever you want and it will sample the pixels corresponding to the “target”.
