This is real easy to do with CreateStudio, then bring it back into Resolve and use like a title.

exFAT is what I use, as it will work on both Windows and Mac.

If you are using the free version, the files may not be supported.

UHD, HDR, log footage, etc., for the most part is not supported in the free version.

You may need to upgrade to the Studio version.

I save titles in the Edit page by creating a folder in the Media Pool named “Titles.” I then drag any title I want to use again from the timeline to the Titles folder. When I want to use that title again, I drag it from the Titles folder into a timeline.

In addition to what the others said, I can fill a 1TB SSD with cache files quite fast on a large project. When this happens, the whole project suffers – especially playback.

Thus, I have gotten in the habit of deleting all unused cache files on a regular basis.

What I was trying to say is that no matter what brand GPU you choose for your build, just make sure it has as much RAM as you can get for smooth playback in Resolve. My next build will have at least 24 GB of GPU RAM.

Your other alternative is to switch to a Windows based system where all brands of GPUs should be available.

I have not had a AMD GPU recently, but I can tell you from experience with the EVGA RTX 2080, with 8 GB RAM that I presently use, 8 GB of RAM is not enough for smooth playback of 4K log footage in some situations. I often get the GPU memory is full message. No matter what brand of GPU the problem exists. My next GPU will have at least 24 GB of RAM.

I use Ease In and Out to obtain smooth transitions.

That is different. Not a Resolve problem. I have found VLC doesn’t offer much help in determining the usefulness of a video file. Media Player Classic, the last version they made, is much better. But, none of these can fix your problem.

What did you recover?

If you recovered a Timeline, that Timeline may still be corrupted.

This happens. In the same project, create an new empty Timeline. Go to the Timeline you recovered. Lasso all of the clips and copy them to the clipboard. Then go to the newly created Timeline and paste them. I have done this many time to successfully recover files.

A 250 GB HD is usually not large enough to handle the cache necessary for smooth operation. I had to install a 1 TB SSD just to use for cache, and then I need to delete unused cache frequently.

There are many things, often associated with project setup, that can cause crashes, but when the cache fills the hard drive mine crashes every time.

The times I have had weird things like that happen I found the Timeline had become corrupted or the computer needed to be shut down and everything restarted.

I have never had any problems with Resolve Sub Titles. They have always worked well and as expected.

Are you sure you have actually deleted all text?

Does it have the same problem in another Timeline?

I have a license and a Dongle. The Dongle still works, in fact you can still buy the Dongle.

I forgot to mention that I also have a LG 32UK550 that I use for my security system. If you can find them, they are all available in multiple screen sizes.

I have a LG 32UL950 and a LG 32UD59. Neither are any good for quality grading, but they are good enough as monitors on my work station. What I use for grading is a LG OLED55CXPUA 4K TV.

It’s all in the settings. If you look at the Media Info I sent for your i9 rendered file, you can see that you have a bit rate of (399Mbps) 10 times that normally used for a H.264 rendered file. Then look at Bit depth only being 8 bit. Chroma subsampling of 4:2:0. Color range of Limited.

That’s a low quality file with a very high bit rate.

I have a similar set-up. i9-9940, and have done many similar videos with sped-up portions of some clips. I have last years model LG OLED TV and have no problem playing 4K 10 bit HDR MP4 or MOV clips processed in Resolve Studio (always the latest version). In my experience you should to set your Output color space to Rec.709-A for best results with iPhone footage.

Windows or Mac? This sounds like an operating system setup issue.

On a Windows machine applications may not be available in accounts added later. You can try reinstalling the application and choose to make it available for all users.

Another option is to purchase a Dongle. I have both a license and a Dongle, and find having the Dongle quite handy when I want to take a project to another computer.

I have no idea what caused the problem. I always use the latest beta version of Resolve when they are beta testing. It was in beta when this was happening, and I have not seen the problem since the last stable version was released. So it may have been a software glitch that was fixed.

My solution was to buy the Fusion Studio Dongle. With the Dongle you can run either or both Fusion Studio and/or Resolve Studio on any computer you plug the Dongle into. You do need to have the software installed, as the Dongle only contains the activation key.

I always blame that sort of thing on Cyber Gremlins, but great that all is working well now.

With a static shot, this is fairly easy to do, but I am not sure how to easily describe the process. With motion involved it becomes more complicated, but is the same essential process.

This is similar to what I went through a couple years ago with 4K 10 bit V-log. I ended up liking resolve so much I now have two licenses, one stand alone and one dongle. I have never looked back nor have I ever regretted moving to Black Magic. Then to make sure you see what you are going to get, you will eventually be considering a Deck Link.
