59.94 1080 clips say “offline”

What kind of clips are they? Some types of clips will not work in the free version. It’s been several versions of Resolve since I have tried a free version, but I do remember that I could not load 4K 10 bit V-Log clips into the free version, but they worked just fine in the Studio version.

They’re Sony clips in an MXF wrapper. I shot the same day in 29.97 (the same shoot actually). The 59.94 ones are the only ones with the issue.

Is this a list you are bringing in from Premiere?

Are you saying in the media page, you can navigate to the folder where the footage lives, but the clips aren’t showing up?

Since you are self proclaimed Newbie…perhaps a bit more detail in the procedure you have been doing. Might be a simple misunderstanding of how Resolve works.

After doing some homework, I’ve discovered 60fps are only useable in the studio version.

I’ll most likely purchase it, seems like a solid program.

This is similar to what I went through a couple years ago with 4K 10 bit V-log. I ended up liking resolve so much I now have two licenses, one stand alone and one dongle. I have never looked back nor have I ever regretted moving to Black Magic. Then to make sure you see what you are going to get, you will eventually be considering a Deck Link.

I’ve been learning Resolve (from Premiere) and have a question regarding project “sharing”.

I work from home 2 days a week. In Premiere, I was able to save the project on my external hard drive, navigate to the project file and open it up, regardless of my location.

I’ve been working on a project in Resolve all week. When I hooked up the hard drive at home tonight I expected to do the same thing. My project is nowhere to be found.

I’ve looked thru the hard drive folder I created, the manual and online and haven’t really found how to do this.

I don’t want to export a project every time I need to move to a new computer, I just need to share it between the 2 computers.

Resolve is different…it works on a database system, so you either need to figure out how to share your database over the internet, or export a project each time.

You may want to start a new thread for this question.

They are many ways to share a project in Resolve. It also depends which version of Resolve you are running.

You can export a project from the Project Manager panel (.drp file), but you need to have already a copy of your media on the other system you are sharing with.

You can archive a project, which essentially export your Resolve project + the associated media

You could also move a database to an external drive, and disconnect/reconnect that database as you move from system to system

Finally with Resolve 17, you could export just a timeline from your project (.drt file) and reload that timeline from your other system.
