If the intent is to create a GUI for BD then yea you need Encore or some form.
But if its just for playback, you just need to burn the right BD folder in a approved disc.

I have done a few DCPs for film events and found them to be less problematic then obtaining a BD player and hooking it up to to projector at a local theatre.

I’ve done a few where I cajoled a director from Premiere to FCPX.

It was so worth it due the nature of his work-flow.

For us we had a major issue with 26.3 as a Mac user.

It crippled our ability to login to our network server.

This might not pertain to a lot of you of course since its not FCP related.

Only affected Macs that needs to be logged in order to continue to use their devices.

The symptoms were endless loops during logins.

It sounds like you were given re-rendered (ProRes?) files.

With no TC intact.

Sounds like a win for new users.

I have clients that stick with it and wont move.
So I have an old cheese grater with the last known version collecting dust.

Weird that at least once a year I get the call.

I’ve been using Premiere since 1994 on top of everything else.

Its an age old workflow.

Have more than one copy in different locations.

For me its daunting.

I have some projects with 20TB of RAW media (RED mostly).

That stuff will forever reside in two to three different locations.

The supporting files (mograph etc…) the same but size depending maybe a cloud option.

Most users that complained about a bloated Library were dealing with external drives formatted in EXFAT from my experience.

Not a Vegas user but that looks like aspect ratio for project is different from sources.

Started playing with this again.

It works well…as a free tool.

However, I was hoping it had an AI function where it would learn the words and correct them all.

Example is “lotteries”. Speaker tends to slur at times and 89 out of 100 the word comes up perfect.

Then it fail as it comes up as “lottries”.

Change the render engine in AME and see if that works.

the only issue is the amount of detail you can create within AE for the waves.

Other workflows include a round in other apps (for me After Effects) where I do my best to remove color cast (green) and anomalies first.

Then export with green screen intact (exterior of character) then use in what works for you.

I use a slew of Mac Pro 2019, 2024 and still have my trusty Mac Pro 2013.

Duplicate the problem sequence and remove data.

Add new clips or diff variations of current data and see if it exports.

The water droplets can be a graphic.

If you want it hyper realistic then you will need to add a 3D app in the mix.

I’ve done a few using Maya and of late C4D.

Not for beginners steps of course.

It has a slight 3D to it so it can all be done within AE.

Depends on the amount of 3D spin you want on the bottle too.

Depending on the amount of the graphic of the label permitting.

Everything else is basic keyframe animation.

Not sure if this was mentioned but from my experience dealing with clients I use h264.

It will play off anything unless its an older USB 2.0 drive and the file is peaked at 4GB.

I always suggest to offload files to their desktop if they are using it for PowerPoint/Live playback.

I also avoid sharing files using OneDrive. Seems to be awful at playback…

Seems like a pain that a colorist would want it in different tracks.
I’ve edited enough features, multi-track concerts and music vids and never had to provide it that way.

There are some base options like OWC Envoy Pro FX SSD drives for mobility then of course a big RAID rig from OWC, GRAID, LACIE, SYNOLOGY, etc…

I personally use a slew of Envoys (mobile), OWC Thunderbay (edit suites) and Synology (massive NAS system).

Wow all the years I’ve been using AE and never ever heard of this keyboard command.

I don’t usually mark actual video clips but time to time it would be great when reviewing mograph comps.

I just started using the transcript and captions option in CC 2023.

Works amazing and very accurate.

However, next day the file I was working on was missing all the work I did the day before.

Not sure what your specs are and what your sequence settings set at.

usually old school issues was the drop frame part.

In this day of age you need options.

Thankfully most serious clients dictate the cloud service e.g. Aspera, Media Shuttle heck even Dropbox.

Personally I use frame io mostly due to the nature of my current workflow.

Really short programs no more dailies.

I was using frame io at its infancy before covid on film sets doing dailies and teasers.
