I’ve gotten pretty good visual results from a couple of engines but they have to use their own voices, not one I upload.

I would set up a permanent download link. I put things into Drop Box and leave them. You can set Drop Box so that it is cloud only and doesn’t take space on your hard drive. I’m not a Windows user but an older Mac I used to run Premiere on booted one day and told me the graphics card needed updating. Didn’t need it so I haven’t done it. You might try updating firmware? Just a thought.

I would get out of Premiere and record the track in Audition or the free app – Audacity. Export as a wave file and import into Premiere. Alt – open a new project in Premiere, record a few lines and see if you have the same problem. Export as WAV file and see if it sounds ok when played through another app, such as QuickTime. Sometime with issues like this, I do everything needed to a copy of the source clip, then export as a new clip and swap it out with the original. If they’re the same file type you can add “old” to the name of the original, give the original name to the modified clip, save and reopen the project. Instant global swap!

I’ve worked projects on external drives on a Mac without issue with two exceptions: changing or modifying the project folder name or moving the project folder. Then all bets are off and I need to relink. So I don’t do that anymore.

Have gone through hardware / peripheral issues before, usually trying to save some $$ on my end. No idea how this works on a PC but on my Mac I keep everything regarding a project in a single folder and simply drag the folders off to an external disk for backup. The bargain basement cheap seats work-around could be to turn your image into a video clip and paste the keyframes into that. (Have’t tried it but this is the first thought that occurred to me… if you can paste opacity keyframes from video clip to video clip using Attributes this should work.)
