Not knowing what you tried I’m gonna go with the first thing I would do: duplicate layer, draw mask, play with levels or curves and warm photo filter.

  • Most times the trick is to storyboard your animation really well and to find those moments where you can easily match in and out frames (ex- where camera stands still and there are a few frames where the image does not change). Then “cut” your animation to pieces and animate in chronological order (easy to match in frame of second clip with out frame of first clip and so on..)

Or you can try to play with the surface controls of the text layers and add some lights in AE to match the reflections in Cinema 4D

It’s easier to understand if you post some stills.

June 23, 2010 at 6:34 pm in reply to: 3D precomp question. What?

If what you’re trying to do is just like in the example you posted, then treat your moves as separate comps and match the in and out frames.
One comp for the camera moves outside the pictures, all the way to when you get close enough that one image fills the frame- then you have a second comp with the image decomposed in 3D space, and a new camera move in the images space, and so on.
From my experience that’s the easiest way to manage the moves and details. At the end you can render the segments and bring them in rendered in a final editing comp (or edit them in FCP or Premiere), or bring in all the comps in a master comp and render all out.

Kinda hard to understand your problem from the way you used english.
My guess is that you are trying to use a plugin that was designed for CS4 in CS5- it will not work since CS5 is running on 64bit. You need the updated version of the plugin- check with the plugin developer for upgrades.

If you’re using mp3 files for audio you may get those symptoms. Convert the audio files to wav or aiff and you should be in business.

June 22, 2010 at 10:39 pm in reply to: Adjustment Layers in CS4

In AE a mask applied to an Adjustment layer will determine the area in that layer in which any effects applied to it affect the layers under.
The mask will work as a mask on 2d layers if those layers use track matte from the Adjustment layer.
You may want to precomp your layers and draw the mask on the precomp.
