It would appear that whoever gave you the QuickTime files has altered the properties, to allow it to display properly in the player. Load in your footage again go to properties and select the video track. Uncheck the aspect ratio box and change the 1024 to 720, hit return then recheck the aspect box.

You will now have a proper anamorphic file whic will work properly in FCP.

    Hope this helps

I posted this problem earlier. I used disk utility to check the contents and mount the partition that failed to appear. It’s a pig of a problem and it’s happening quite regularly…….. I’m seriously looking at XDCAM HD.

Projects in FCP are not backwards compatable from 5.1.2.

Try P2 Genie https://www.p2genie.com/. It will allow you to format the card, turning your laptop into a P2 Store.

[Shane Ross] “The P2 Genie is only if you offload the card with the use of a laptop.”

I also thought as you do until last night when I archived 9 cards from the P2 store using the P2 Genie, just went off and had a cuppa whilst it did it.
The only unresolved issue is that it did not get all the cards in chronological order.

You should see markers on the waveform which represent that part of the audio used in the sequence, any adjustments etc need only be applied within those markers. When you save, use the reference option to avoid altering the original track.

If it helps, I use the Sidebar in the Finder window when copying P2 volumes to my archive drive. I have found that the ‘NO NAME’ drives appear in chronolgical order (top to bottom) from the store. The desktop appears random, especially if you have lots of other icons there.
