Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Audio Question

I cannot find a solution to this for some time and so, could use some help…

I’ve captured an entire tape and have broken it up into clips within my sequence.

I would like to edit the audio of each of these clips individually. When I export the whole projject to soundtrack pro, when I edit the audio for a single clip, it opens up the audio of the entire tape from which it is from.

How can I edit the audio from within just the in and out of that clip? I don’t want to see the entire hour of audio.

    Thanks
    Jim

You should see markers on the waveform which represent that part of the audio used in the sequence, any adjustments etc need only be applied within those markers. When you save, use the reference option to avoid altering the original track.

    You’re right there are markers..

I wish I could understand, why by default, it does not just open up to the region specified by the clip. Would make things faster…

    Thanks,
    Jim

Is it possible to somehow automatically generate a non-destructive project file for each clip within a sequence? I have more than 80 clips for which I want to edit the audio independently and perform normalization. I understand now that only after I create a new audio project for a clip and then reopen that clip, will I have for easy selection, just my clip’s audio.

Is there any way to automate this process of creating audio projects for clips? I really wish that this could happen during export from FinalCut. then I wouldn’t have to worry about creating and naming a project for each audio clip.

I just want to (In Larry Jordan’s words) select something and do something to it.

Is my problem the result of capturing an entire tape at once and having a single master file for all of my affiliate clips? If so, what could I do differently within Finalcut, to make this editing of audio clips go quicker?

    Thanks
    Jim
