And not only is there support for 720p25, as well as other formats (not P2 related)…but the interface is new too.

You can preview your MXF footage…rename it…mark in and out and THEN import it. Log it exactly as you would a tape. You can choose what audio tracks to import, or to just import video only, or audio only.

This is a dream come true. NICE GOING APPLE!

Hmmm….now I feel a little pain for Imagine Products.

You’ll still need their products for 720p50 …

P2Log from Imagine Products. Have a look at http://www.aulich-adamski.de regarding workflow (the site is in German, but there is an English version of the PDF).

FCP 5.1.2 appears to have a “crash on startup” conflict with the latest Avid Quicktime Codecs.
(the latest available ones from August here: https://www.avid.com/onlineSupport/br…ID=404&browse= )

Remove the Avid Codecs and FCP fires up just fine…put them back and its crash city. They played nice under 5.1.1.

If you are having crashing issues with this update, check in Library/Quicktime to see if you have the Avid codecs installed, or any other third-party codecs.
