I think you are going to have to render out a couple times.
    -single render Cube/AO
-Multi render with object buffer on disc
    -floor

If you are rendering with out buffers every object shares the same alpha. Can you post a still or scene file?

There is no reason not too have two splines but since I am pretty new to xpresso I wanted to see if I was missing something or perhaps taking the wrong approach entirely.
Thanks for info on the spline dynamics I will have a go at that too.

June 13, 2008 at 9:26 am in reply to: Increase no. of batch renders

I recently read about rendering direct from the console on the maxon site. If you start a render then start a new command you can start another…and repeat.
This will not offset your animations though it just means you can render as many scenes as you want at the same time.
As for adding in the batch render I have no idea.

I work with compositing mostly but all my pricing for editing, compositing, 3d are all the same.
My prices vary depending what they are for. Small projects, say less than a day I tend to take a box price but projects that take longer I go hourly…longer the project less per hour.

I dont go under 50 per hour but I am also not in the US so hopefully someone else answers too.

If you are going for a still image I suggest placing a bitmap on a plane inside the cube like Adam suggested.

You can make nice smoke with a light and noise too. There is a thread at c4d cafe that has a few example project files posted search Mograph Smoke.

Pyro cluster is found in the the materials manager. (default bottom of the screen)
materials: file: shader there you will find a volume tracer and pyrocluster… for pryro to show up you need to put the volume tracer on an enviroment object. Enviroments can be found in the lights drop down menu. Then place the pyrocluster on an emitter…play a few frames and render.

Inside the pyrocluster material you can choose smoke, fire and a few others.

The best option may be putting it up on c4dcafe forum then you might get more people to help…and they have a file upload option.

Or if its small enough you could just email it.

or send me your email and i can send you some ftp info.
