Hi Eric,

Is the card in the top slot (slot 4) of the Mac Pro? If not try it there and make sure the “Expansion Slot Utility” located in “/System/Library/CoreServices” is set to profile number 2.

Hi Neil,

It’s normal not to see the preview in the Mac monitor. We turn that off to conserve CPU cycles during the capture process when going into a compressed format like JPEG or DVCPROHD. However, you should still get a preview on on the output of the card.

Is the “Black Video Output to Deck in Capture” option in the DeckLink prefs set to the type of output you’re monitoring? If so, you will get black video on the preview output during capture.

Hi,

The Disk Speed Test will report the current throughput of the drive so if the drive is almost full, you’ll find that the speed reported back will be lower than when it is empty. This is normal as SATA drives will slow down as the space gets used up.

Hi Michael,

The Blackmagic codecs (other than 8-bit (2vuy) and 10-bit RGB) are not available in Shake or FCP, only the Apple Uncompressed 4:2:2 codecs are. Can you verify which codec you’ve used?

What version of our drivers do you have installed?

Are you on a G5 or Intel Mac Pro?

What version is Shake?

As a test, try uninstalling our drivers using the “Uninstall Blackmagic” application located with every driver download, do the renders again and see if that makes a difference.

Hi Uku,

It’s weird but I can’t reproduce this. The files created scrubbed fine in VirtualDub and shows the correct properties as well.

All I did was to load a clip in VirtualDub, choose the option in Compression, then do a Save AVI. I also did one where I selected the range to compress (I used 100 frames) and it was still ok.

There is no Blackmagic DV codec. We use the Microsoft DV codec for the compression work. I’ll log mjpg as a feature request though.

Hi Joe,

Couple of factors:

1) Intensity outputs YUV not RGB. Your Dell or any computer monitor will expect an RGB signals via DVI-D.

2) Intensity does not adjust the framerate of the video to what is expected by the monitor unlike the HDLink.

Is the card showing up in System Profile?

Are you able to toggle the options in the DeckLink Preferences?

In Final Cut Pro, open Audio/Video Settings, click on the Capture Presets Editor, edit the current present you’re on and check if the digitizer is set up correctly.
