Tried a search for this but these things change with driver updates.
    My question.

With a BM HDPro (single link) connected via SD to a Multibridge Extreme.
While capturing from HDCam-SR set to save as DVCProHD
I don’t see any picture on my Mac monitor while capturing
Or on the external boradcast monitor.

Same with a BM HDPro (single link) connected to the HDCamSR directly to the VTR.

Capture works and when editing, the footage appears on the external boradcast monitor. Just that one is blind during capture.

Also, when working with DVCProHD and the card set to downconvert, I get SD picture on the external boradcast monitor, but it does not update in real time.

Same setups, saving as uncompressed ot PJPeg works fine.

Is this a limitation of these BM cards? Winn using a HD Extreme card work?

Forgot to mention. My HDCam-SR source is 1080p24. I’m capturing to DVCProHD 1080p24.

    Hi Neil,

It’s normal not to see the preview in the Mac monitor. We turn that off to conserve CPU cycles during the capture process when going into a compressed format like JPEG or DVCPROHD. However, you should still get a preview on on the output of the card.

Is the “Black Video Output to Deck in Capture” option in the DeckLink prefs set to the type of output you’re monitoring? If so, you will get black video on the preview output during capture.

[Neil Sadwelkar] “Also, when working with DVCProHD and the card set to downconvert, I get SD picture on the external boradcast monitor, but it does not update in real time.”

Is this 24 fps or 23.98fps? If it’s 23.98fps, you can use the “Blackmagic HDTV 1080i 23.98->59.94 – DVCPRO HD” easy setups. This will pull down the timeline to 59.94 and then down convert it to NTSC.
