On my NTSC monitor via component or video the raster is shrunk in the monitor about 10%. It looks like underscan… and underscan doesn’t work. Do I have something set-up incorrectly?

    I’m using a Mac G5 Quad.

    Hi Mike,

Does the clip look ok on the computer monitor (FCP Canvas Window)?

    regards

    Thanks for your reply.

Everything looks fine in FCP. Coming out of the component jacks, the picture looks very underscanned. My underscan button on the Sony PVM 80420 monitor has no effect. Running composite to the monitor has the same effect or less quality.

The display preference on the Mac reads the NTSC monitor as 720 x 486.

I’m not sure if I’m missing something but it’s hard to judge image size and quality.

The monitor came back to full raster for 1 day it is now back to the reduced image. Do I need to power up the multibridge pro in any particular way? Should I leave the power connected at all times to the MBP?

Being that it worked and now it doesn’t makes me wonder?

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Mike,

THe Multibridge Pro should be powered up first before starting the Mac. It should be powered down AFTER powering down the Mac. If you choose to leave it on 24hours, that’s fine as well.
