A DVD that plays HD? Uh…I don’t think so. These don’t exist yet. You’ll have to play from your camcorder or HDV deck.

Are you viewing the High Quality version of the QT output? By default it will not export at high quality. You have to enable High Quality in the Window>Get Movie Properties dialog.

While that hack does work for only one deck and with a Dev Tool you have to dig for, in general NLEs will not output TC – even Avid.
The way to do that going back to the old days is to black and code your tape beginning at 58:00:00. Then backtime your pre-show elements for your show to begin at 1:00:00:00. In Edit to Tape enter the backtimed TC into the In Point – then Assemble Edit.
That way, your sequence Time Code will match your sequence Time Code.

No, Debe’s right I bet. Your drive is not initialized properly. You’ll need to use Disk Utility and rewipe that drive. Ummm, I betcha it’s a brand-spankin’-new FireWire drive, no? Any NEW drive MUST be re-initialized regardless of what is says on the box about being Mac friendly.

Enter in some random numbers? Now that’s no way to adjust an Anchor Point! Boy do all three of ya need my book, “Motion Graphics and Effects in Final Cut Pro”! 😉
Even the most hardened FCP vet will not know that in order to move the Anchor Point – you use (of all things) the Distort Tool to move it.
By default, the Anchor Point lies at 0,0. With the Distort Tool, click and drag it to a new place on the Canvas. You can even drag it offscreen.
Ya see? 😀

You’ve got the wrong book then. LOL. Check out “Motion Graphics and Effects in Final Cut Pro” which will tell you to AVOID scrolling text and all other legacy generators altogether.
In this case, you’d use “Title Crawl”, which is a far superior tool for rolls and crawls. You can select any part of the crawl and change fonts, font size or any other parameter of type.
If you don’t have Title Crawl and Title 3D installed, you probably are running FCP 4-4.5 when it was not auto installed. In that case, you can check your Extras folder on your install disk. It’s called “Boris Calligraphy”.
The Legacy Text generators should be put on mothballs. Title 3D’s been around since FCP 3 or so.
