I have a small project of hi-res stills to cut together for an exhibition. The projection will be on an HD PAL 42″ LG plasma screen that gives its resolution as 1024 & 768 (I haven’t yet received info about the DVD player but I’m told that it too is HD).

Can someone confirm what the sequence settings in FCP should be? There are various HD settings to choose from in both the pixel aspect and the Quicktime settings. Bear in mind I am working in PAL.

    Thanks

A DVD that plays HD? Uh…I don’t think so. These don’t exist yet. You’ll have to play from your camcorder or HDV deck.

No DVD players will do HD? So if I make an HD Video TS file in DSP4 I can only play back out of the Apple DVD player?

I was possibly misled by the ‘1080 HD ready’ tag on some of the DVD players. What do that and ‘HDMI connection’ refer to then?

And returning to the initial question, is there an optimum sequence setting in FCP for the kind of project I’m doing?

    Thanks.
