If you have the main titleline selected in the keyframe dialog, and double-click the title in the window to edit it, no new keyframe should be created regardless of where the cursor is in the timeline.
I may not be explaining it well in print, but this is something I perform every day, all day, using title templates and then modifying the characters. Trust me, it’s possible.Douglas Spotted Eagle

IMO, Mercalli does a much better job than DeShaker, the color is sampled better/more robust, and provides a more accurate image true to the original.

Use dual layer DVDs.
If your bitrate is higher than 9Mbps or lower than 4Mbps, you run a significant risk of various players being entirely compatible with your discs/content.
It doesn’t matter what you’re shooting with, MPEG2 on an SD dvd is MPEG 2 on an SD dvd. Bitrate is about all that matters.Douglas Spotted Eagle

Word of caution, on some systems that don’t have enough RAM, or if you’ve got background apps running while importing a full-length or lots of chapters DVD such as a slide show, sometimes Vegas will buffer out and simply crash or lock up.
Get around this by turning off View Frames and Waveforms.

You could burn the files to D/L DVDs as data files. For the time involved, you’d probably find an HDD is cheaper, unless you set the DVDs to burn overnight. Bear in mind that reloading to HDD from DVD will take a long while as well.

Mike is correct, the video output is for a Standard Definition display, over 1394 only. It cannot route to a secondary monitor. You can put the screen on a second monitor during the editing/timeline view, however.

If it’s volleyball, you almost certainly want deinterlacing method to be interpolated, not blended.
Also realize that it may be impossible to completely lose, because you are digitally zooming, thus making the recorded fields larger than they were.Douglas Spotted Eagle

You’re exporting the mxf from the Clip browser; can you hear the audio in the clip browser?
