  • Missing audio on 720p/50fps footage from XDCAM EX1

When importing MXF-files from the Sony XDCAM EX1 that are shot in 720/50p the audio doesn’t appear in Vegas. I’ve tried playing back the MXF-file directly using VLC-mediaplayer, and the sound is there. My project settings are 1280x720p 50fps 48khz-audio 16bit. The waveforms are flat and there is no way i can get the audio to appear…
I’ve tried importing the same file in Avid Liquid, and the audio is working… I hope anyone can help me with this issue.

    Thnx!

You’re exporting the mxf from the Clip browser; can you hear the audio in the clip browser?
If I get a moment, I’ll put mine in PAL mode and see if I can replicate.

    Hi,

Yeah, i’ve got sound in the browser – and in all the other mediaplayers / NLEs i’ve tried. I’ve put up some of my footage – just a small sample. This is part of the footage that doesn’t have sound appearing in Vegas:

    Thanks!
