Turning off Device Control
Is there a way to turn off the device control command in vegas video capture 6 when capturing from a digital source? I usually capture with my ADVC 300 using very old VHS tapes. Whenever the tape starts playing a part that is really blurry/shaky, vegas video capture will stop capture and then resume shortly after that distortion goes away. The only problem I have is that it stops capturing the sound as well, so the only workaround for me has been to capture the sound separately for individual sections of the tape and then reinsert it back during the editing process–as you can imagine, this gets really tedious, especially with tapes that have these distortions every 3 or 4 minutes.
Any ideas? I thought I remember having read that this could potentially be corrected if two VCRs are used to pass the signal from one to the other and then to my ADVC 300 which then transfers the signal to my computer.

Capture Application | Options | Preferences | Uncheck the device control.

In VidCap:
Options – Preferences – Capture
Deselect “Stop Capture on Dropped Frames” is another possibility.
