It works the same as DV, just takes longer because it has to conform your sequence back to the MPEG GOP structure. Once that is done it prints to tape just like DV. What problems are you having? Make sure your camera is set up correctly. What is your system configuration?

Your best bet is to export your sequence from FCP to Compressor via a reference file. It will compress faster than exprorting from FCP 5. However you can export to compressor from FCP 5 in the file-export.

Get this book.
Apple Pro Training Series : Final Cut Pro 5 (Apple Pro Training Series)
by Diana Weynand
Borders has it. This book will get you up to speed quickly.Don’t start cutting like you did in Media 100 in FCP. Learn the FCP way. We used AE with M100 as well, now we do 90% of what we did in AE in FCP. Get Boris Graffiti or Red for titles, you’ll be right at home there. The 3D Title is a dumbed down version of Graffiti, you can’t place text on the screen in 3D title. You do it when you go back to FCP
Make sure you use the easy set ups, it will save you a lot of head aches. Live Type is amazing but it takes a little learning. https://www.dvcreators.net/products/ltps.html have a great LiveType DVD to get you up and going quickly.Enjoy Dave

We have two of the older 20 inch and 22 inch that have been running for three years and have had no problems and no burn in on the screens.

November 27, 2005 at 3:20 am in reply to: Change speed on a clip without pushing everything back??I use a sequence called “work” and I copy my clips I want to speed change into that sequence and leave them there. So if the speed change isn’t quite right you can go back and forth until you have the speed you want.

I just did a test with 8 bit uncompressed NTSC and was able to get to 6 angles, no higher. We are running a huge raid that clocks at 250 mb’s read & write. I had the same problem when I went to 8 angles and above.
