For some reason after upgrading to FCP5, I do not have the ability to export to MPEG2 for SP4. It seems to have less export options than before. Any idea as to why this happens and what I can do to fix this? Thanks

Your best bet is to export your sequence from FCP to Compressor via a reference file. It will compress faster than exprorting from FCP 5. However you can export to compressor from FCP 5 in the file-export.

You will also notice that you do not have A Pack. It now built into Compressor. If you are in desperate need of the MPEG Export, you can download it.

There have been many posts regarding this change. You just have to change your work flow. Actually, you will like it because you can encode your video and continue to work in FCP.

How would I create a reference file? Export using Quicktime? Thanks.

Just uncheck the “self contained movie” option in the export window, (after you have nested your sequence and mixed down audio and othervise readied your sequnce).

Beware, the reference files are exactly that, so you may like to mixdown a selfcontained file for archieving and later use, if that is relevant.
