    Alan

When you say “not likely to happen in the near future” are you talking NAB or later than that?

Well is it a upgrade/fix that you really need? It sounds like some others that responded were not having the same issues. Maybe you should consider a process of elimination or just doing a clean install. If everyone were having that problem, then I could see your point.

Remember when the went to FCS2 they allowed everyone and everything to upgrade to the full version. People were running out to the Apple store and buying copies of Soundtrack and Motion to upgrade to the full version for $299. I even upgraded an academic version of FCP for 299. That’s why you were able to do it then. My understanding was they were doing it to control piracy but I’m not totally sure on that.

I’ve always had problems with Soundtrack files not getting copied over. It will usually creates a file called “render” that is useless.

I always wonder why some of you get so uptight over rumors and in some cases quote the Apple company line. People talk about it because they are excited and looking forward to the latest greatest. Personally, I think they are fun. I even like when they are wrong because I think that Apple is putting out the false ones to find the leaks. It’s as if some are saying that you shouldn’t even speculate. Why not? Lighten up just a little. There’s some heavy stuff happening in the world right now. Having fun with a couple of rumors is no big deal in comparison.

  • My condolences as well. We didn’t know each other that well but he would always come talk to me at the MMB and Supermeet. I don’t think he had a clique-ish bone in his body.

  • Good point. That’s what I’ll miss the most, meeting people and seeing old friends.

I think you missed it on the feathering option Lars. If you click on the mask tab you can either enter a higher value or slide the value all the way up to 1000. You might want to give Motion a second chance.

But don’t all companies have a development cycle of 18 to 24 mos.? So I expect significant upgrades to the proApps this year including DVD Studio.
