Sounds like the problem is with how you are targeting tracks in the sequence. Targeting works differently when editing a clip from the Bin compared to editing a clip from the Source Monitor. Here is a great tutorial about targeting tracks. I believe the problem you are having is mentioned near the end of the tutorial when editing from the Preview Monitor is discussed.

Also, Andrew Devis has a ton of tutorials here on the Cow that I believe are a must watch for anyone switching to Premiere CS6.

Just an idea, are you exporting using preview renders or is the render at full resolution checked on your export window. Those pesky low renders got me a couple of times. They are useful but they’ll get you at the end.

Multicam is supported in Premiere CS6. Adobe says you have an unlimited number of cameras depending on how powerful your machine is. Syncing is mostly the same as with FCP 7 after that its a bit different. Here is a tutorial that got me started after moving from 7 to Premiere.

December 28, 2012 at 7:37 pm in reply to: PP CS6 doesn’t allow me to change default move from 5 frames to something else…In FCP my preset nudge was 5 and 10 frames. Have not looked into changing it in Premiere and I have gotten accustomed to the 1 & 5 frame moves. If I need to move a selected clip a specific number of frames like 6 or 12, on a numeric keyboard I would type + (plus) or – (minus) and the number of frames I want the clip to move.
Hope that helps,Victor

December 28, 2012 at 5:50 pm in reply to: Client Wants Multiple Frames of people saying lines in sync. For the audio, does it matter that the voice is actual sound from the 40 people on screen. I would record myself and some others in the office saying the line several times to get good timing and audio. If possible have a group say the line together. Does not have to be 40 people in the group, maybe 5 or 10. After recording multiply the track, offset by a few frames, filter creatively and voila, 40ish people. I believe the group method might be simpler because you can hear the words together live as well as having the group adjust the tempo according to your needs.
Good Luck,

December 19, 2012 at 5:22 pm in reply to: Moving clips – video and audio – in the timelineIts not that FCP’s workflow is better, its that Premiere’s is different in some ways. Hey this is a Premiere forum so doubting it wont get me too far. Although I prefer the FCP way at times there are a ton of things that make working with it great. Once your memory adapts to how Premiere works many things will start falling into place.
From the Adobe website:
To place the video and audio portions of a clip into tracks you specify, drag the video portion to the destination video track. Press and hold Shift. This will pin the video portion to the specified video track. Continue holding Shift and drag downward past the bar separating video and audio tracks. Release the mouse and release Shift when the audio portion of the clip lies over the destination audio track.Good luck with the transition to Premiere

Thanks for the tip Ann. Just tried it.
Scott,
You can also single click your sequence in the Bin then click on the “Markers” Tab above it. You will see all the markers and info along with a thumbnail of the clip the marker is on. Click on one of the images in the Markers tab and the timeline will jump there. Love that. You can also drag the tab off to another area of your screen.
Now if the markers only had colors.Hope that helps
