Your probably right Tom. I edit FCP / Premiere / AVID and prefer to stay Premiere / AVID when I can. Either on PC or Mac. Of course there can be exceptions, I also still edit on FCP.

I had the same problem with XDCam HD 1080i VBR footage imported on a Mac using XDCam Transfer. I was able to use the footage by sending to Compressor and exporting the footage to ProRes HD 1920×1080. Try a test clip and see if that will play on the PC.
Hope that helps,

If the markers are on the clips themselves and all your clips are in the same bin you should be able to see all marker text by:
Selecting (highlight) the Bin
Click on the Markers tab in the Project windowYou should see a new layout in the Project window with clip icons and text.

Switched to CS6 Production Premium from FCP. Although I still prefer a Mac due to my knowledge around the OS I also work at a small shop that switched to PC. Both are very stable and I do like some things better on the PC over the Mac and vice versa. There were some minor issues we had to get past when switching from a Mac to a PC such as Mac Formatted drives returning from the field, the large number of filters we used that were only supported on a Mac and how to get around exporting a ProRes file to our distributers. Although the transition to PC was bumpy at first many of the issues have been settled.

I purchased a Bella Keyboard (Premiere Pro) for my MacPro and was struck by the placement of the Command Key˜. Confusing at first.

August 7, 2012 at 4:53 pm in reply to: Switching from FCP but some commands not working?I also switched from FCP 7 a few months ago and used the FCP settings. Many of the ones I used in FCP were not set up in CS6. Had to spend a few hours going through the keyboard shortcut list to add ones I use most. Now that I am also transitioning from Apple Motion to After Effects I am noticing that many of the actual Premiere CS6 shortcuts are the same in After Effects, so I am now transitioning away from most of the FCP shortcuts to the CS6 keyboard shortcuts and adding back some FCP ones that are not in the CS6 setup. I also purchased a CS6 keyboard to make things easier.
