I`ve been working on some small projects in PP5.5 and, in the latest weeks,PP6 (coming from Vegas Pro software).
One weird thing that has ocuuried many times along the the editing process (never when I start it / day one) – and I can`t explain – is that, at a aleatory (for me) point of the editing, when a press the insert or overwrite buttons to include some part of a clip in the timeline, sometimes it takes just the audio part of the clip to the timeline and other times it just open a gap in the timeline correspondent to the piece of the clip selected in the source window.
What should I`m doing wrong or not checking to make this happen?
How can I correct this PP6 falty behavior?
    Thanks

Sounds like the problem is with how you are targeting tracks in the sequence. Targeting works differently when editing a clip from the Bin compared to editing a clip from the Source Monitor. Here is a great tutorial about targeting tracks. I believe the problem you are having is mentioned near the end of the tutorial when editing from the Preview Monitor is discussed.

    hope that helps,

Thank you very much Victor. Targeting tracks tutorial was greatly effective to answer my questions.
