Moving clips – video and audio – in the timeline
I’d like to select a clip and move it from v1 to v2. What I’d also like to happen (and what happens by default in FCP) is that the audio associated with the clip to move from a1 to a2. That’s not happening for me. For me, when I select the clip and move it, only the video is moving to the next track. Then, I have to make another move to make the audio move too.
Change I change how this works?
PS. I’m starting to miss the refined workflow of FCP.

Its not that FCP’s workflow is better, its that Premiere’s is different in some ways. Hey this is a Premiere forum so doubting it wont get me too far. Although I prefer the FCP way at times there are a ton of things that make working with it great. Once your memory adapts to how Premiere works many things will start falling into place.
From the Adobe website:
To place the video and audio portions of a clip into tracks you specify, drag the video portion to the destination video track. Press and hold Shift. This will pin the video portion to the specified video track. Continue holding Shift and drag downward past the bar separating video and audio tracks. Release the mouse and release Shift when the audio portion of the clip lies over the destination audio track.Good luck with the transition to Premiere

Ahh, ok. thanks. I don’t know that I ever would have found that on my own. So, why the extra “step”? Seems to me that the default should be if I move a clip from V1 to V2 that the audio would also move from A1 to A2.
Am I perhaps missing something good?

In earlier versions when you moved the video part the audio part followed to the corresponding track.
Due to many requests of users Adobe changed that.———————————————–
