If the Link option is greyed out, Pr thinks the media is online. You will have to select it and make off-line, then try to relink.
Have you tried to turn off GPU acceleration?

If you had a subscription plan for CS6, Adobe would have offered you at least one free year subscription for CC.
That is how we came a board on CC, and have chose to stay because of the great new features constantly coming.

Still have 2 Production bundles of CS6, so we can return to this if we do not want to continue paying for subscription. Photoshop, Audition and After Effects files translate directly (without new features), and Premiere edits can be reimported through XML. Only if I choose to use Speedgrade I will loose my color work.

I am working on a large documentary, also with 100+ hours of footage – Panasonic P2, Sony EX, C100, and some Smart phone footage. During the 2 years of production I have edited a lot of sequences, first on FCP7 and recently on PremierePro. But now we are bringing in an editor, and this means moving to Avid.
Unfortunately this also means manually resyncing of all edited sequences, since Avid needs to transcode to DnX format on such a large project (AMA is not stable enough). We have used more than 6 weeks transcoding, and at least a week to re-establish the edits that I have done.

So it is important to make the right decision about what system to edit on. If you choose to edit on Premiere, do update to CC since it offers better performance with C100 footage (but still needs to manually interpret footage for Progressive frames). You could use Prelude to make editing notes and transcode everything to ProRes or DNX for better transition to colour grading.

Here is the solution we chose:

-MacMini top model, Mavericks Server
-Thunderbolt attached ARECA Thunder8 Raid 38x4TB (Raid6 configuration)
-Thunderbolt attached Sonnet PCIe Expansion with SAS card, and Small-Tree 6 port Gigabit Ethernet Server card
– SAS connected LTO5 drive

Server runs Farmers Wife planning and scheduling software, File sharing through AFP and SMB2
Clients (Mac & Wn) connect to server through direct ethernet connection (Jumbo Frames enabled on Mac) to Small-Tree card

….and the verdict: it works great… but… I believe there is an issue with the Mavericks clients connecting through SMB2, where server contact sometimes momentarily freezes. We work around this by force connecting through AFP.

Match sequence setting exports in the format you have chosen for your sequence preview renders. You can setup Prores as the main format for a sequence if you do a loot of preview renders, this will allow you to export including reuse of the rendered parts. Prores is a great Master format if you choose to go to Episode.

There are “secret” keyboard shortcuts to most SG functions. Zoom in timeline uses Ctrl+Scrollwheel.

Try a reconnect one more time. Mark the clips in the sequence, right click, and choose OFFLINE – then repeat and choose LINK. Point to the new location of the first clip. All the rest should reconnect automatically.

One reason may be that you have clips with the exact same file name. This will confuse Premiere. You will have to locate those clips (right click and choose to Show File in Finder) and rename one of them to a unique name. When you relink these you will have to uncheck the same name option.
