Is it possible that you’re somehow in the Advance Capture window because, as far as I know, some of the settings you describe only show up there.Mike

I’m sure you’ve checked but, because Vegas 6 has more preview options than V5, confirm that yours is set to the correct one.

On his PluginPac page, Satish says:
“PluginPac Plugins are no longer supported. A more advanced version of the plugins is available by the name Wax. The old PluginPac plugins are not supported anymore and development has been stopped. It is highly recommended that you download Wax if you are looking for plugins.”
Another good reason to get Wax instead.

Sounds like you’re thinking of Satish’s PluginPac which has been discontinued.
The good news is that it’s been replaced by Wax. -
Two things you can try.
#1 is to select “reduce interlace flicker” on the offending images (it’s a right-click function).
#2 is to select “Best” mode when you’re rendering images.Also, how big are the images after conversion? I seem to recall reading somewhere that images over 2000 x 2000 can cause the problems you’re having.

In case no one took the time to read Chris Young’s reply to Thomas’s original question, it seems that PAL users have a periodic problem with resizing in both track motion and pan/crop.
Chris has tried all the solutions suggested here (and then some) and has not been able to resolve this problem either.
Seems to me like it’s another bug that only shows up in the PAL format.
For example, there’s a time code entry bug that is limited to the PAL format as well.
Sounds like it’s time for an email to Sony tech support, although complaints about the time code bug have apparently fallen on deaf ears so far 🙁Mike

You could try using the chroma key filter on the black. You’ll need to play with the various adjustments to get it as clean as possible.
The other option is to bring it into Photoshop and make the black transparent.Mike

The only thing that comes to mind is to make sure your project properties are set correctly. I’ve captured from my GY-DV550 several times and it’s always worked properly.
