Another mask question: How do I make ‘black’ transparent?
I have stock footage. Coloured text over a black background and need to make the black transparent. (Alpha)
So I can use it to superimpose over a shot.I tried the mask generator and couldn’t do it. Well it half worked, it made the black transparent but also made the coloured text white.

You could try using the chroma key filter on the black. You’ll need to play with the various adjustments to get it as clean as possible.
The other option is to bring it into Photoshop and make the black transparent.Mike

Right clip on the clip and click the media tab and set the alpha to straight or multiplied – chances are, it’s an alpha already.
