  • No preview on Canopus ADVC 100 in Vegas 6?

Posted by Barend Jasper on December 3, 2005 at 10:59 am

    Ladies, gentlemen,

I just discovered previewing on a Canopus ADVC 100 no longer works in vegas Video 6. It works fine in Vegas 5, but for some reason Vegas 6(c) refuses it. Any idea what’s happeining here?

My apologies if this has been discussed here already.

Sometimes, if you have mutiple instances of Vegas and/or capture open, the external preview is not released when you switch between them. If you have a Vegas 5 project open too, close that and see if yur Vegas 6 project starts previewing.

Also be sure that the ADVC is set to digital and not analogue

I have the Canopus ADVC 100 and it always works the first time but if I exit Vegas Capture and then later open it back up again without exiting Vegas6 first it will have problems. Closing out of everything and opening it back up usually works. I don’t recall having this problem in Vegas5.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

I haven’t found the answer yet though.

We’ve got Vegas 6c running on 2 PC’s, and both PC’s have exactly the same problem: the image doesn’t appear on the TV’s connected to the 2 Canopus AD/VC100’s.

-The switch is set to digital input
-We don’t have Vegas 5 and 6 running simultaneously

In both cases Vegas 5 work fine, but not with Vegas 6.

In both cases they recognise the connected device…

Aaargh. Sometimes one misses analogue video (although only for 2 seconds).

I’m sure you’ve checked but, because Vegas 6 has more preview options than V5, confirm that yours is set to the correct one.

My experience was exactly the opposite. My Canopus ADVC100 was unreliable in V5, and it works perfectly in V6.

Mine has worked fine in 4, 5, and 6. No troubles aside from a few puffs of smoke.
