Hi guys. I have a weird problem. I have to do a dvd with still images that fade one into another, with some pans and titles. It’s for a kind of trade show.

My source images were tif and eps. When looking to the mpg2, some imeges flicker. Always the same. Those that are correct are always ok with the tests I’ve done. But sometimtes, working images were tif and sometime eps.

All images have been converted in photoshop to jpg full quality images.

Once my editing done, I render avi’s. Avi’s are fine. Then I convert them to mpg2 to import in dvd architect. All the project settings are templates. It’s in the mpg2 that some images flicker.

Not all images have the same resolution and size and proportion. But it seems that any res or size could work since some images are ok with not necessarly the same res and size.

I’ve done other projects in the past and never had this problem with stills.

I’ve tried several things but with no result. My client want it to be perfect and I don’t know what more to try. I have to deliver this job tonight!!

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Two things you can try.
#1 is to select “reduce interlace flicker” on the offending images (it’s a right-click function).
#2 is to select “Best” mode when you’re rendering images.

Also, how big are the images after conversion? I seem to recall reading somewhere that images over 2000 x 2000 can cause the problems you’re having.

If you still get some after doing what Peter mentioned, try adding just a very slight blur to the image. The problem occurs when you have very fine lines in hi-res image.

    Hi again!

    It seem better, thank you!!!

What are the best project property settings for that kind of project?
What about field order, pixel aspect ratio, deinterlace method?

    Thank you for helping!

I thought it was ‘force resample’ for that.

    What’s force resample do then?
