And you don’t need CinemaTools either… export the batch file and import into ALE via File/Import and save as ALE.

The default naming of a clip is bin name with clip number, so that was the 19th clip captured at that time and has nothing to do with the name of the tape.

You certainly can capture DNxHD36 from a live HD-SDI stream with Avid hardware or AJA i/o Express. Or you could capture via a Cinedeck or Sound Devices type device directly to DNxHD 36.
Are you planning on inserting the LUT into the HD-SDI stream with something like an HDLinkPro? make sure you don’t have any frame delays. Also, what will the common source ID be for the image being captured?
Unless the filename is being inserted into the HD-SDI and decoded, you will only have timecode – but to which file will be lost. I know the RED camera inserts this into the HANC – I don’t know about Arri Alexa unless it was added with the latest firmware.

Have you tried just copying those to the Avid MediaFiles folder already on your hard drive? Copy the MXF files into Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1
Launch MC, open MediaTool and drag from window into bin.

Depending on where you are in the workflow, the ALE will contain additional metadata such as ASC CDL values in a dailies workflow.
Open MediaTool, find clips and drag to bin. Resove adds “ceated by Resolve” in the comments field to make then easier to find. Select all, then merge the ALE file into the existing master clips to get the additional metadata.

It is basically indicating that not all the effects are supported between Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve. This is the first implementation of AAF, I am sure that over time, additional effects will be supported. Plug-ins are a different matter as they would also need to be supported within Resolve to properly interpret.

I don’t think it was so much overlooked as prioritized. The storage savings from 115 to 36 was greater than 60 to 36 so that’s the main reason.

If you look in the Film/24p settings, you will have all the support for 24pA and 24pN support for capture over FireWire.

Good request. The encode tables were only created for 1080 at the time. In theory you could probably make a goog looking DNxHD 22-25 for the 720p format as an offline proxy.
