That’s Mpeg2 for ya! You get compression artifacts on every DVD. It’s a fact of life with DVD for now.

    Hope this helps-

They will never look as high res as in iPhoto. Video has much less resolution, always, plus less color range and less dpi. Are you looking at this on an interlace CRT monitor? What resolution is the project in, HD,SD,DV? If you wanted to do a slide show with high res look at Powerpoint(yuck!) or Keynote from Apple.

    Hope this helps-

September 1, 2005 at 5:50 pm in reply to: How do I apply variable speed to a motion?

Do a control click or right mouse click on the keyframes and select ease in or ease out. That will give you handles to adjust the path and speed. After Effects dose this better in my opinion but you can do simple moves with good results in FCP.

I would say it’s more like iMovie for producers.

Have you had your DigiBeta unit serviced recently? Could be dirty heads. Then, is it happening with all tapes or just one. Could be bad tape stock. Testing to see which is the culprit is in order. Deck, cables or tape. Good luck.

    Hope this helps-

August 7, 2005 at 5:29 pm in reply to: Timeline Damaged?

Could be corrupt media. Put all your media in the trash and then try to access the timeline with it all offline. If you can access your timeline it’s most likley a media problem. If so, then pull small groups of media out of the trash and recconect to find the suspect media file or files.

    Hope this helps-

I get the same Error only on the G5 (D2G) mac but not on my G4 (D500). Both run FCP 4.5 and 10.3.9 and QT 6.5.2.

Just make the clips offline in the project you are redigitizing. Then digitize your new footage.

Some cameras do not have the ability to record from anolog. There should be a step by step in your owners manual for the camera. If you are trying to pass the signal through the camera directly to FCP, your camera may not allow this. Agian, check your owners manual.
