I heard of one guy that took his Kona or Voodoo BOB firewire out and pluging it into his Mac Firewire. But just go grab a Mac mini and your set for $600 bucks.

After Effect or Motion for something like that. Too tricky in FCP.

More hard drive is a must and is cheap to do. More RAM if you can afford it. And a new Mac a.s.a.p cuz the render times are going to be killer long.

Not quite sure I understand. Should take no time by my calculation. If the footage is DV and the timeline is set up for DV, just drag and drop. What codec is your footage? What codec is your timeline? Have you done something like this before?

What have you done so far? Trashed prefs? Do a partial compression. Just parts of the whole. See if it’s corrupt media giving you fits.

If you export just audio do the pops go with it? Have you done a mixdown? Dose it always pop in the exact same spot? It could be a cumulative effect of playing the 44.1 and 48 together. Have you ramped up and down on ALL the sound clips on all your audio tracks? DV has a tendance to pop when a file is not faded down, even if there is no sound.

    Hope this helps-

  • Try to export out of Quicktime Pro as AIF and 16 bit 48khz. You must separate the audio from the mpeg track before you can import the audio.
