Has anyone found a solution to Adobe’s lack of backwards compatiblity?

I tried using this ‘downgrader’ tool, but it does not seem to work.

I’ve spent the last two days trying to export a clean AAF file from Premiere 2025, and still haven’t had success. If there were a rating system available, I would give it one star across the board for virtually everything.

Hi, I’m trying to export a 25 minute AAF sequence. If I export a small excerpt of the timeline, all of the audio tracks are included.

If I try to export the full sequence with the exact same settings, it will exclude the top 4 tracks…

Enable Breakout to Mono

Thanks, I tried to open the last 5 auto saves. All corrupted. I gave up and just lost work. Premiere is so cool and superior to Resolve.

Okay, I went ahead and built a new .wmv preset and it finally worked. I guess the preset somehow got corrupted???

Adobe never fails to surprise me.

Experiencing a brand new fun glitch with Media Encoder where it will not output a .wmv file.

Running AE and Media Encoder 2024. It starts the encode then fails. I’ve tried importing the source file as a quicktime and a .mp4. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, AE to Media Encoder is not a simple keyboard shortcut issue.

Woke up to Premiere randomly deciding to not import quicktime files correctly. Haven’t changed a single setting or update. The quicktime file was rendered out of After Effects.

When I import the file, it looks like it’s playing back at half opacity with weird lines running through the image.

Hey everyone, I finally found the auto save folder on a separate drive that I use for cache files. No idea why Premiere decided to put it there as the project settings clearly indicate a different file path.

Yes, that is usually the case, but the file is not there or anywhere that I can find.

Hey all, just on a little treasure hunt to find where Premiere is auto saving.

When I look at the preferences within the project, it shows:

documents > adobe > Premiere Pro > 22 > Autosave

However, when I navigate to that location, the file is not there. I’m searching everywhere on my system drive but can’t seem to find the file. Any ideas?

Thank you, everyone. I guess the numbers have to be at the end with a Tiff sequence even though AE will import these files as a Jpeg sequences, regardless of where the numbers are…weird.

Update: Jpeg sequence imports just fine, so it must be something with Tiff that I’m not doing correctly

I did a search but couldn’t find anything. I’m just curious why the new versions of Photoshop require you to click “Save a Copy…” to view other file formats rather than displaying all the formats available by default…As in previous versions. Is there some hidden benefit to this? Why is Adobe forcing us to click around more?

Ahhhhh, it may be a scaling issue. Some of the graphics are vectors that were imported super small and needed to be scaled up. I bet this is the issue!

No camera in scene! I think it must be some AE weirdness. If I use the arrow key to move the layer, it completely disappears. If I move it back into position with the arrow key, it still remains invisible. The only way to make it reappear is CTRL + Z

Hi, in previous versions of AE, it was super easy to use the Anchor Point tool to move the anchor around on a layer. In the new version, if the layer is 3D (annoying XYZ axis obscures the anchor) it is EXTRMELY hard to click and drag that anchor point. Is there some trick I’m missing here or did AE make itself harder to use yet again?

After Effects keeps rending out a black frame at the exact same timecode. I’ve tried deleting the memory/cache and restarting the app.

All layers in the comp are just solids created within AE, so I doubt it’s a corrupt file.
