Hi all, I need to create a looping animation that has a 2D steam element.

I’m creating my steam by applying the wave warp effect to a solid layer.

This works great but I can’t seem to figure out a way to make the effect a seamless loop.

I’ve watched some tutorials involving Time Remapping, but I haven’t found a way to make it a seamless loop. Any ideas?

I came up with a way of looping footage using a precomp, time remapping and a simple fade expression. I used smoke stock footage to demonstrate it too:

One way is to map a steam texture on a HOOP, and rotate it past the camera. Map the resulting render on a poly.

Thanks! This is a decent workaround.
