Hi, this is kind of a simple question. Let’s say you’ve created a comp with a solid and mask and then change the comp size. Is there an easy way to adjust the size of the solid layer without also adjusting the masks? Example: a comp that was originally 1920×1080 is resized to 1080×1080. Can I easily adjust these solid objects without also having to resize every mask?
What I usually do, copy the mask change the size of the solid, and paste it again. A circular mask will remain circular, and not turn into an elipse, like if you would have resized the old solid.. It’s ok if you only have a few layers, but if you have lots.. it’s no the best.
Alternatively, you could use the old solid as a track matte for the new solid.
maybe there’s even a script out there to do this..?
You’ve got two solid methods there, but if for some reason, these don’t give you the result you’re after, a third option is to select your mask (or just a couple of points), right-click on them and choose Mask & Shape Path > Free Transform Points
