Hi, this is kind of a simple question. Let’s say you’ve created a comp with a solid and mask and then change the comp size. Is there an easy way to adjust the size of the solid layer without also adjusting the masks? Example: a comp that was originally 1920×1080 is resized to 1080×1080. Can I easily adjust these solid objects without also having to resize every mask?

What I usually do, copy the mask change the size of the solid, and paste it again. A circular mask will remain circular, and not turn into an elipse, like if you would have resized the old solid..
It’s ok if you only have a few layers, but if you have lots.. it’s no the best.

Alternatively, you could use the old solid as a track matte for the new solid.

maybe there’s even a script out there to do this..?

Thanks! That’s a decent method, you’ll still have to scale the mask though. I’ll look into track mattes.

You’ve got two solid methods there, but if for some reason, these don’t give you the result you’re after, a third option is to select your mask (or just a couple of points), right-click on them and choose Mask & Shape Path > Free Transform Points

That will let you scale and move the mask
